New York, NY: 26 May 2015 – Techstars alumnus, Infinit, announces its first major partnership with HTC, for its free and unlimited file transfer app, bringing the service to more than 10 million users in Europe and Asia. The addition of 9 new languages to Infinit’s mobile apps, marks the company’s dramatic expansion in high-growth developing markets like Russia, Turkey, Brazil and other Latin American countries, but also in Western Europe and the United States.
"We are working with HTC to bring Infinit to millions of users, as the definitive answer to transferring files to and from any HTC device. HTC sees a natural fit between our easy-to-use file transfer app and the problems their customers face when sharing files on mobile", said Julien Quintard. He notes that Infinit’s success on Android has been recognized by several smartphone manufacturers and telecom operators, hinting at additional partnerships that are in the planning stages.
In conjunction with the launch of its partnership with HTC, the team is also releasing the first version of its iPad application, extending the reach of the service, which is already available for Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. The iPad app features Infinit’s signature point-to-point technology, meaning that the transfer of a full HD film from a desktop computer to an iPad would take less than 10 minutes over WiFi. The app allows sending any number of photos and any length of video without sacrificing quality because of compression, ensuring a full high definition experience for videos, photos and sound. Like Infinit’s other apps, the iPad version is built around file transfer, although it strays slightly thanks to the addition of a simple gallery, which offers a neat organization for both entertainment and productivity.
The new iOS app also brings the addition of an iOS Share Extension, on both iPhone and iPad, enabling sharing any type of file from any app on iOS including voice memos, photos, videos, documents, music and many more. Another welcomed improvement to all of Infinit’s apps includes the ability to send files to one or many of your own devices (e.g. My iPad). The files are automatically transferred to that device without any additional steps. Infinit users can now also manually pause and resume transfers, a reassurance that the app can be prevented from consuming bandwidth on a mobile data plan.
Infinit has been growing rapidly since its mobile launch back in April, becoming the de-facto file sharing replacement to messaging apps like Whatsapp, iMessage, Facebook Messenger, and file sharing solutions like Dropbox, AirDrop and WeTransfer that are incapable of handling large files in a reliable and secure way.
“Infinit is now a full-featured service, used by both creative professionals for its feature set, but also by non-tech savvy individuals for its simplicity. Infinit is the first app that allows sending any file, of any size, on any device, at lightning speed, guaranteeing delivery to a friend or to another device. It’s crazy to think that Apple or Microsoft didn’t try to do this 20 years ago! This has been our vision since the very beginning, and it is now a reality.” says CEO Julien Quintard.
Infinit’s mobile apps are now available in French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Turkish, and also in Dutch and Swedish on iOS.
